The Arctic Research Group organises and carries out scientific research expeditions in the High Arctic – with a focus on environmental work.
Environmental research expeditions to the High Arctic
Founded in 1988, the non-profit group formed and run solely by volunteers, seeks to be the grateful recipient of donations and support from individuals and businesses, as well as environmental and prestigious grants. Support grants have included the Gino Watkins Memorial Trust, Svalbard Miljovernfond and a Rolex Award for Small Expeditions. Funding is essential to enable the environmental work and everyone involved provides part of the funds, as well as their time, enthusiasm and energy. There are no paid employees in the Arctic Research Group.
