The Expedition Report of the Arctic Research Group 2025 Scientific Environmental Research Expedition to Tempelfjorden, Svalbard is now available for FREE download.
Over the months since their safe return from the Arctic in August 2025, the expedition members have been involved in evaluation of the field data and the production of report drafts, which have then been edited and collated into the final report. In 157 pages, the report provides a record of the expedition, as well as the reports about the research projects that were safely carried out.
Dr. Steve Staley FRGS, ARG Group Leader and Founder Member, who edited and collated the report, comments "It is always a very pleasing and proud moment to complete the expedition report and distribute it to enable it's free availability. The contributors to the report are to be commended for their commitment to this crucial aspect of the voluntary work as members of the ARG, which is as strong as their desire to visit the High Arctic and carry out the vital environmental scientific project work in the first place".

The final report provides insights into the organisation and completion of the expedition, including details of logistics, transport, food, programme and expenditure as well as the outputs of research projects. What is behind the final report is a huge amount of volunteer time, energy, enthusiasm, ideas and investments for more than two years since the first discussions about the 2025 expedition. That journey has begun already for the 2027 expedition which will draw on the experiences of the 2025 and other previous expeditions that the Arctic Research Group has carried out.
We hope that you will take the time to download and read the final report, and if you are:
a researcher - we hope that this may help you in your research and may inspire you to consider a research project involving the Arctic Research Group and contact us;
a supporter - we hope that you will be pleased with the output you helped enable and be willing to continue and perhaps expand your own support, or inspire others to support the Arctic Research Group;
