Visited various sites to survey archaeological remains and compared them with their previous conditions. Nothing was touched or moved; all data was collected through drawings, photographs, or videos, and registered with ArcGIS later. Photogrammetry generated a comprehensive picture and exact details so that future visits could assess natural degradation.
What was the purpose of the fieldwork?
The various sites, identified through existing research by Polish expeditions in 1989 and 1999 from south of Laegerneset, north and east as far as Kjeftausa, were visited. The remains at each location were compared with those previously registered, logged, filmed, and photographed for further analysis back in the office. The sites were examined by sight, but nothing was touched or moved in any way. All information was gathered through photographic or video means to be registered with ArcGIS later.
Photogrammetry was used to generate a comprehensive picture of the areas and the exact details of the current remains so that future repeat visits could assess the natural degradation of the sites.
