The 2019 Expedition
The interaction between ice and rock has been the dominant factor in determining the form and shape of these islands. A combination of very old and very new rocks together with severe glaciation makes this area both interesting and scientifically important. It is hoped that by combining several interrelated subjects a more comprehensive picture of the areas may be gained.
79º 30’ North
The protection from severe sea storms from all but Northern winds could help make this area more acceptable to the flora that will be sought. However, the location, at almost 79º 30’ North, almost guarantees a more severe climate than those enjoyed further South
