2023 Expedition
The 2023 expedition was centred around Recherchefjorden in southern Spitsbergen – an area that offers major glaciers, fjords, mountains, archaeology and wildlife in abundance. The expedition took place in August 2023 and was successful in achieving results across all of the projects and everyone staying safe and returning home. The Project teams and leaders are writing up their reports which will be used to update the information below in due course.
Recherchefjorden
Svalbard 2022
The base camp was located on the East side of Recherchefjorden and the team had use of a small boat which provided rapid transport to different research locations for the various, multidisciplined projects. The groundwater project team established a small research camp in Chamberlindalen for a couple of days and carried out work there and in Dunderdalen.
